This is a story of a recent assignment Jesus embarked upon with me. I want to give Him all His glory.
The Lord was so faithful, as always. He was speaking to me before I went, and moved on me to clean the dehumidifier in the prayer room. The caution button for cleaning the filter had been on for quite some time. I had tried on occasions to determine how to get all the way into it to do that. I couldn’t figure out how to open it, so I just would empty the canister of water each day, thankful that it still worked. Then a couple of weeks ago I felt prompted to buy a baby bottle brush and try using that to reach deep down in there where I could see the debris, by the help of my handy dandy flashlight on the phone. Yesterday morning as I was with Jesus getting ready for the meeting to pray for a dear lady’s healing from her third bout with cancer, the Lord said, “Clean the filter.” I promptly got my new brush, took the canister to the sink, and began reaching down with my scrubbing muscles. Still, I couldn’t get it all, but it was much better.
After doing the best I could, I replaced the canister. The Lord prompted me to pull the entire machine away from the wall, and look in the back. I did. There I saw a filter that was solid black ! I tried getting that off, all the while asking God what to do. I started using paper towels to gently remove the black dirt, when suddenly I just reached up to a little grove and popped the filter right off of the machine ! I gleefully took it to the sink and cleaned the whole thing ! I was so happy. I even took pictures of the before and after ?
I saw and felt the joy Jesus gets when we allow Him to go deep in, cleaning out every nook and cranny of us, by His handy dandy spotlight. He gets that launderer’s soap out, pull us away from our walls, and goes right at it. He knows how to get the thing open !! We just have to realize that all our efforts are only temporary or surface level at best. The walls we’ve built up around us come crumbling down. We can do nothing apart from Him. When our spiritual filters are cleansed from the filth of this world and everything that doesn’t align with His truth, we get to be filled with His healing and deliverance; His power, light, and glory. This process must happen on a regular basis, not just once. I’m sure that I will need to clean this dehumidifier many more times in order for it to continue functioning properly. Paul said it best; “I die daily.” The only way to know that we need this cleansing is by being close enough to Him to see it and to hear what He’s saying about it.
Because God often speaks to me giving revelation on what’s going on in the spirit through what’s happening in the natural, He was making it very clear that He wants the filters cleansed in this precious lady’s life.
I was able to share this with her along with the pictures. Also when I was getting ready to go, I was thinking about any anointing oil to take. I said, “What anointing oil should I take ?” I always carry frankincense and myrrh in my purse, but I heard Him say, “butter.” I laughed and went on getting ready. Then as I went to the kitchen, He said it again, so I got a little stick of pure butter out and dropped it in a cooler. I thought about how silly that might seem to these folks I’ve never met, but oh well, I’m going to obey. ?
After sharing with her about the goodness of God and getting to know her….oh and her husband eventually came in and then one of her daughters, I presented the pictures and then the butter. They are believers, and are encouraged by Him. She has spent 30 some years working with special education students, so these simple acts of testimony and faith meant a lot to her.
Confirmation on the butter happened as I was following the gps to her house. They live way out in the country, and when I turned on their road…. the gps said, “Turn here on Butter Road.” ?
I plan on following up, of course, and believing that all cancer had to leave in the face of God’s beautiful love for her. She was instructed to clean her spiritual filters, melt the butter, and smear it all over herself. ?
Have you checked your filters lately ? Have you tried taking care of it all be yourself ? What kind of anointing does He want to butter you up with ? Will you pull away from your walls and let Him get to it ?
