The Mind of Christ

I have been going over the scriptures that tell me what the mind of Christ is, for He says that that’s what He wants us to have in every situation. It’s in Philippians 2. It helps me to make a list of the characteristics so that I can get them in my spirit. We can lift the whole body of Christ up in prayer to get ahold of this so that we can move and breathe and have our being in Him.

1. Be of no reputation

2. Be a bond servant (serve by choice) Galatians 1:10 “Do I now persuade men, or God ? Or do I seek to please men ? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bond servant of Christ.”

3. Humble myself

4. Be obedient (even to the point of death)

5. Work out my own salvation with fear and trembling

6. Do all things without complaining and disputing.

7. Hold fast to the Word of life.

8. Have love, mercy, and affection.

9. Be in one accord, of one mind in the body of Christ

10. Do everything in lowliness of mind.

11. Esteem others better than myself.

12. Look out not only for my own interests, but also for the interests of others.

13. Be poured out as a drink offering.

14. Be glad and rejoice.

Wow, right ? God will use everything that we go through to refine us to make us into His image. Believe it. He wants to do that in every situation, all the time. He needs our “yes”. Be blessed in the journey ?

Added thoughts:

1. Jesus learned obedience by that which He suffered. Hebrews 5:8

2. He came to earth to do the will of His Father, not His own. John 6:38

3. He was tempted in all ways as other mortals, yet did not sin.  Hebrews 4:15

4. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:1-18

Jesus moved from untested obedience into suffering, and then through suffering into tested and proven obedience to Father God’s perfect will.

He doesn’t ask anything of us that He doesn’t understand or hasn’t done Himself, or give us the ability to accomplish. It’s His mind, and His Spirit living within us that brings us into alignment with His mind, and the perfect unity with the heart of our Father.
